Lake Worth-The Rolando Chang Barrero Fine Art Gallery presents 4 VISIONS an exhibition of contemporary  fine art photography by Philip Ross Munro,Adam Collier Noel, Brian Cattelle, and Pat Swain. The exhibition focuses of the the personal expressions of four contemporary photographers and the styles that have made them some of the leaders in the photographic world. The exhibition opens with a reception on Saturday evening, March 19, 2016 at 6 pm during PRIDE FEST WEEKEND in Lake Worth and in conjunction with ART SYNERGY'S Palm Beach ArtForms Events during ArtBocaRaton.

PrideFest features a full slate of exceptional live musical entertainment, fine merchandise from booth vendors, and an awesome selection of food from many local restaurants. Celebrate the generations, and celebrate LGBT pride in the annual parade starting at noon on Sunday in downtown Lake Worth at Lucerne & M Street. Among many attendees, local elected and appointed representatives including the mayors and commissioners of the city of West Palm Beach and the city of Lake Worth, have attended annually and shown their support for the event. Each year, the mayor of Lake Worth raises the Pride flag with Compass' Chief Executive Officer at City Hall during the week of the festival. About the Artists:

Philip Ross Munro
Philip Ross Munro is a graduate of the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts in Paris and has a background in Engineering from McGill University in Montreal and Digital Media from City College in San Francisco.
Mr. Munro’s career spans more than thirty years and his current studio is a 4000 sf warehouse in the Design District of Miami Florida He is known for his paintings and photography of shadows, underwater figures and more series investigating the human balance and perception. During the last twenty fie years Munro has shot underwater images in natural bodies of water; using uncontrolled situations and everyday people instead of professional models. This production reveals the artist as a ‘Documentarist’: an observer of mind / body relationships to circumstance. He chronicles the nuances of human comprehension and situation, exposing sensuality in a delicate balance.

Adam Collier Noel
Adam Collier Noel is an internationally collected artist who graduated from Herron School of Art & Design where he received his Bachelor of fine arts degree in photography.
Adam is currently working from his studio in south Florida and exhibiting work in Indianapolis, Fort Lauderdale, Calgary and Key West. 

Pat Swain / Lost Flamingos in the Cloud Forest Series
Pat Swain leans towards the quirk and tribulations.
She is also an award-winning photographer whose work has been shown extensively around the world. Among the many publications her photographs and digital art have appeared in are Leonardo (MIT Press), the New York Times, Digital Fine Art, Spin Magazine, New York Magazine,. She holds a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, an M.F.A. from Pratt Institute, and an M.A. from Columbia University. She has taught digital imaging at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. She lives and teaches in New York City.

Wet Foot/Dry Foot, the exhibition, opens with a reception on Friday, January 15, 2016 from 6-9 P.M. at the Rolando Chang Barrero Fine Art Gallery, located at 711 Lucerne Avenue, in Lake Worth, Florida.

Wet Foot/ Dry Foot: 4 Cubans and their contributions explores the impact and the contributions of 4 Cuban visual artists: Juan Erman Gonzalez, Patricio Rodriguez, Alejandro Justiz, and Noel C. Hernandez Perez.

Galleries and curator, Rolando Chang Barrero’s intention is two-fold, first to allow the viewer to decide whether or not a schism exists between the works produced by artists who began working prior to and after the 1995 policy changes in the Cuban Adjustment Act of 1995. Secondly, Wet Foot/ Dry Foot begs an answer to whether the immigration status of each of the artists can be detected in the works presented.

About the Artists:

Juan Antonio Gonzalez, better known as Erman, has lived in the United States since 1969. Erman works include mixed-media installation consisting of a variety of works continuing his thematic concentration of migration, trans-culturism, exile, and displacement. Using utilitarian methodologies such as assemblage, cut paper, ceramics, and sewing, and utilizing post production, recycled, and donated goods.

Patricio Rodriguez’s work is marked by the outpouring of virtuosity of his visual modus operandi in this case the draft. He creates a beautifully dangerous personal universe full of holes, leaks, findings and abruptness, in the sharp edges of their performances, as "something" endowed with desire, and that desire to be ... the artist is palpable, . And this danger is your best virtue; deadliest their patience before our eyes, because it will be almost impossible to escape its spell.

AIDS Memorial Quilt Coming to Compass Community Center

The Nobel-Prize-nominated piece of folk art, created in 1987 by a group of strangers, will be on display Dec. 1-11 at the LGBT center on North Dixie Highway.

“This quilt means something different to everyone,” said Ryanmarie Rice, Compass’ chief of staff. “It’s deeply personal and is hard to put into words.”

"It was an age of exploration, the '70s, in our lives and in our art. Idols lay shattered in the wake of Vietnam and Watergate, and flowers bloomed in the rubble. In our innocence, sex seemed like a gift without price, and maybe it was, for a time. Inevitably, artists, whose job it is to “make it new,” drank deep of those pleasures. And in the '80s, when the plague arrived, artists swelled the ranks of the doomed."
